This project is rolling out between July 2024 and December 2025 across Tasmania. The project is being delivered by Pinion Advisory with support from the TAS Farm Innovation Hub through funding from the Australian Government’s Future Drought Fund.

On-Farm Water Storage

Developing on-farm water storage can lead to economic and environmental benefits.

On-farm water storage can allow farming businesses to:

use water more efficiently
capture drainage flows from irrigation and rainfall and store it for later use
collect water from streams or rivers during high flow periods
improve animal welfare and production through improved water quality and access
store water for later use to allow for irrigation when it is needed rather than only when it is available and
help with controlling erosion.
