Water Use Efficiency

Explore the resources below or join us at an event to learn more about how you can improve your water use efficiency on your farm.

This project is rolling out between July 2024 and December 2025 across Tasmania. The project is being delivered by Pinion Advisory with support from the TAS Farm Innovation Hub through funding from the Australian Government’s Future Drought Fund.

Irrigation Maintenance and Performance

As every producer knows, when your equipment is operating smoothly, efficiency improves and stress levels decrease. One of the most important pieces of equipment to have operating flawlessly, pass after pass, is your centre pivot irrigator.

The simplest way to avoid breakdowns is to stay on top of machine maintenance, especially before the irrigation season commences.

There are maintenance tasks which require a service provider, and others which can be carried out by farm staff.  Keeping on top of the tasks able to be done in-house, you’ll increase the efficiency and lifespan of your equipment.

A basic pre-season system performance check can be performed by the farm business.

The following resources are suitable for all farm managers and farm staff looking to improve their confidence, skills, knowledge and understanding of the importance of maintaining centre pivot irrigators and irrigation systems for peak performance.
