Farm Dam Enhancement - Field Day (North)

Join Landcare Tasmania and NRM North for a half-day field day designed for farmers, property owners and Landcare members interested in improving farm dams. Learn about the production, ecosystem, and drought resilience benefits from improved farm dam management.

What to expect

  • The latest scientific research from the ANU Sustainable Farms project on the many benefits of enhancing farm dams
  • Field visits to local farm dams to compare stages of farm dam enhancement.
  • Hear from experts on:
    • Water bugs and their role in farm water systems.
    • Animal health and how water quality impacts stock.
  • Catchment mapping that identifies priority areas for future farm dam enhancement.

Morning tea and a light lunch included. Please dress for all weather conditions.

Funding & AcknowledgmentS

This program received funding from the Australian Government’s Future Drought Fund.

The Australian Government is contributing $12.4 million over 4 years through the Future Drought Fund under various grants. Hub partners and the University of Tasmania will provide co-contributions of an amount at least equal to the Australian Government funding over the same period.
