Global Agritech Innovation: Shaping the Future of Tasmanian Agriculture

Are you a farmer, student, investor, agri-service provider, or just curious about the cutting-edge innovations transforming agriculture?

Join us on Monday 21 October at 4pm at room 119, Rivers Edge,UTAS InvereskCampus, Launceston, for an exciting, interactive experience where global agritech innovation takes center stage, offering new possibilities to shape the future of Tasmania's agriculture. The TAS Farm Innovation Hub and Foodtech Tasmania proudly present four leading AgriFood startups from across the globe, currently participating in the FoodTech Tas Accelerator program, bringing fresh ideas and solutions to the table.

The event will kick off with Tom Woolley, MD of Foodtech Tasmania, who will dive into the global agritech trends reshaping the industry, with a special focus on how these advancements can benefit Tasmania’s agricultural sector. Discover how Tasmania can tap into the power of global agritech solutions to foster resilience and growth in a rapidly evolving sector.

Then, the spotlight turns to an engaging Shark Tank-style session, where startups from Mexico, Kenya, the USA, and Canada will pitch their ground-breaking agritech solutions. You’ll have the chance to hear how these innovations could impact Tasmania, ask questions, and even vote for your favourite pitch! A panel of experts will provide live feedback to the innovators.

Funding & AcknowledgmentS

This program received funding from the Australian Government’s Future Drought Fund.

The Australian Government is contributing $12.4 million over 4 years through the Future Drought Fund under various grants. Hub partners and the University of Tasmania will provide co-contributions of an amount at least equal to the Australian Government funding over the same period.

We acknowledge the palawa/pakana people, the traditional custodians of the land upon which we live and work. We honour their enduring culture and knowledges as vital to the self-determination, wellbeing and resilience of their communities.
