Innovate Ag Tas MeetUp - the bright and shiny future of agtech

Come and join us for a breakfast MeetUp at The Royal Yacht Club of Tasmania in the Bruni Room for an exciting event all about the latest innovations in agriculture technology! For startups and developers, it has been a tough couple of years, but it's a bright future. Come and hear from a couple of surviving startup Founders, and two experts from the US. The leaps in robotics, automation and AI have been massive of the last couple of years and ChatGPT is becoming a day to day tool. This panel will give you insight as to what the next big leaps could be and what impact that could have on agriculture.

  • Steve Mantle CEO and Founder of innov8.ag, ex-Microsoft, a trailblazer in agtech facilitating data integration
  • Matt Hoffman is the Plant Health Technology Lead in Driscoll’s Global R&D, where he manages an agtech program
  • Leon Power CEO of Nanobubble Agritech, technology which supersaturates oxygen into irrigation water to drive productive agriculture
  • Fiona Turner CEO and Co-Founder of Bitwise Agronomy, an AI powered startup increasing accuracy in horticultural yield forecasting

Facilitated by Dr Fiona Kerslake, from Bitwise and Ag Logic working in industry and following her passion for useful applications of AgTech.

This program received funding from the Australian Government’s Future Drought Fund.

The Australian Government is contributing $12.4 million over 4 years through the Future Drought Fund under various grants. Hub partners and the University of Tasmania will provide co-contributions of an amount at least equal to the Australian Government funding over the same period.

We acknowledge the palawa/pakana people, the traditional custodians of the land upon which we live and work. We honour their enduring culture and knowledges as vital to the self-determination, wellbeing and resilience of their communities.
