Emerge - Supporting Farmer-Led Groups
Farmer‑led groups strengthen rural communities through shared learning and support. The Emerge program helps new and emerging groups build structure, skills and confidence with tailored guidance, practical tools and expert coaching.

Overview
Community groups play an important role in supporting peer learning, providing connection and tackling shared challenges.
Farmer-led groups are a vital part of the rural landscape, whether they’ve formed organically or are guided by a dedicated person or committee. They can draw together people in a region, or with a common commodity or interest.
The Emerge program offers support to help new, emerging and currently informal farmer-led groups to grow and strengthen. This free program tailors itself to the areas your group wants to work on.
If your group could benefit from;
- Defined objectives and refreshed common goals
- Better organisation and meeting systems
- Support developing the group’s Constitution, other documents and the process to become a formal incorporation (or other entity)
- Understanding options for housing grants in the future
- Leadership and communication training
- Ideas for marketing and reaching new members
- Guidance on running field events

Highlights
Eligible groups with receive professional coaching to work through their challenges. We’ll meet with the group and its leaders, addressing areas to improve, supporting development of documents and systems that fit the group and building skills across the group.
Learning events will be open to groups as well as current and future leaders wanting to expand their skills.
A toolkit of resources will be produced to meet the needs of emerging farmer-led groups in Tasmania.

The program will develop practical, ready-to-use, resources your farmer group needs:
- Templates for meeting agendas, minutes, constitutions, code of conduct, annual reports, event run sheets and more
- Resources to run effective meetings, organise events and secure grants
- Tools to help your group communicate its purpose, vision and plan for the future
- More identified by the groups we work with – so register now and let us know what would help your group!
